BELAY is hiring a full-time Senior Inventory Accountant to manage complex inventory accounting operations for multiple client accounts remotely within the U.S. Eastern or Central Time Zones. This client-facing position suits accounting professionals who possess specialized knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management systems, and financial reporting. In this role, the individual will serve as a primary resource for inventory-driven businesses by overseeing reconciliations, tracking cost of goods sold, performing month-end closes, and troubleshooting system integrations. The professional will also assist clients with software implementations, data migrations, and strategic financial analysis. Responsibilities

  • Manage recurring inventory accounting tasks including reconciliations, adjustments, costing, and month-end closes
  • Analyze inventory balances, standard and landed costs, gross margins, and financial variances
  • Support the setup, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of inventory management systems and software integrations
  • Prepare and migrate inventory data such as SKUs, costs, vendors, and customer records
  • Troubleshoot system and synchronization errors across accounting, inventory, and e-commerce platforms
  • Prepare and review financial statements and operational KPIs to advise clients on purchasing and financial decisions
  • Assist with client onboarding, cleanup, system setup, and data validation activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Four to eight years of progressive accounting experience in client service, outsourced accounting, or inventory-focused settings
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures
  • Demonstrated background in inventory accounting, cost accounting, and cost of goods sold
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and related accounting applications
  • Availability to work remotely during standard Monday through Friday business hours from the U.S. Eastern or Central Time Zones

Qualifications

  • Experience with inventory management systems or ERP platforms such as Cin7 CORE, Netsuite, or SAP
  • Familiarity with e-commerce systems like Shopify, Amazon, or A2X
  • Background in standard costing, landed costing, or inventory valuation methodologies
  • Experience handling inventory management system implementations or software migrations
  • Previous exposure to inventory-driven, e-commerce, manufacturing, wholesale, or distribution business models
