Job Description

GameChanger seeks a Senior Full Stack Engineer, Basketball to join its remote-first technology group. GameChanger builds digital platforms designed to support youth sports communities, connecting families, coaches, and athletes through live scoring, statistics, and viewing tools.

In this role, you will spearhead the architecture and implementation of features that bring basketball experiences to web browsers and backend infrastructures. You will partner closely with product managers, designers, mobile developers, and fellow engineering teams to scale high-performing systems for live games and post-game analysis.

This position is ideal for software professionals who possess deep backend knowledge, enjoy tackling complex architectural problems, and have an affinity for athletics. Candidates may work remotely across eligible United States locations or out of the company office in Manhattan.

Responsibilities

  • Design and scale backend services and APIs powering basketball scorekeeping and statistics
  • Develop web components that display basketball box scores and stats to users
  • Partner with mobile engineers to supply backend functionality for Android and iOS applications
  • Manage technical delivery, architectural choices, and project lifecycles independently
  • Write maintainable, tested code while elevating system performance and reliability
  • Collaborate across multiple squads including Gameday, Stats & Insights, and the Hoops team
  • Review peer code and share technical expertise with team members

Requirements

  • Experience delivering production backend services and APIs
  • Background building applications utilizing TypeScript and Node.js
  • Experience creating web features using React
  • Proficiency in writing scalable code with an emphasis on backend development
  • Ability to independently guide technical solutions from design through deployment
  • Experience cooperating with design, product, and cross-functional engineering teams
