Figma is hiring a Product Designer, Roundtripping to join their team in London or remotely within the UK on a full-time basis. Figma develops a collaborative platform that enables teams to manage design and prototyping workflows in real time. In this position, the selected professional will focus on bridging the gap between production code and visual design systems, building advanced workflows, and expanding agentic features into developer tools.

This role suits a technically-inclined designer who enjoys tackling intricate engineering challenges alongside researchers, engineers, and product managers. Responsibilities include building prototypes, participating in team design critiques, shaping overall product strategy, and delivering features across core product surfaces. Candidates should possess a strong visual aesthetic, structural thinking abilities, and a background in designing software interfaces with comparable scale and complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build prototypes for workflows that connect production code and visual design
  • Contribute to product strategy discussions and help shape overall direction
  • Collaborate across departments with engineering, product management, user research, data science, and UX writing
  • Develop and refine flows, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals while providing constructive peer feedback
  • Ship feature releases and improvements for core product surfaces
  • Engage with the design community by mentoring colleagues and sharing best practices

Requirements

  • At least three years of experience designing user interfaces and user experiences for complex software products
  • Demonstrated visual craftsmanship with a focus on layout, interaction design, composition, and typography
  • Experience driving end-to-end design lifecycles independently from discovery to launch
  • Ability to guide strategic choices using user-centered research and structured rationale
  • Background in designing technically challenging products such as developer tools or extensible platforms

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with web standards including HTML and CSS
  • Experience utilizing AI coding solutions such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex
  • Proficiency with advanced platform features like Variables, Auto Layout, and Components
  • Practical background building with application programming interfaces, web technologies, command line interfaces, model evaluations, or developer products
  • Previous involvement with canvas-based interfaces or creative workflow tools
  • Experience establishing, maintaining, or contributing to formal design systems
