Pinterest operates a visual discovery platform used by millions globally to gather ideas and plan their projects. The organization is currently hiring a Principal Product Designer, AI Native, Core to join the Core design team on a full-time basis.
This position is suited for an adaptable design leader who will take on complex challenges, focusing specifically on integrating artificial intelligence assistive tools into consumer offerings. The person in this role will guide strategic direction, elevate the standard of design quality, and mentor colleagues within the department.
The role requires occasional in-person collaboration, specifically needing attendance in an office setting one to two times every six months, while otherwise supporting flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Define strategic direction and product vision for intricate challenges, including the future implementation of AI assistive tools in consumer offerings
- Drive major design initiatives and communicate the design team's efforts across the organization
- Collaborate with design leadership to set and maintain the standard for design quality through design systems and principles
- Mentor and support the professional growth of other team members
Requirements
- Over 12 years of professional experience with a history of launching well-designed experiences using modern technology
- Background working with large language models, prompt engineering, prototyping, AI product flows, and agentic systems
- Demonstrated expertise in product strategy, product design, and design thinking showcased through a portfolio
- Ability to travel to an office for collaboration one to two times every six months
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in design or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
