Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche is hiring a full-time, on-site People Experience Specialist - Retail (US) to serve as a trusted advisor to staff across North America. This position focuses on guiding employees through resources, resolving workplace issues objectively, interpreting employment policies, and supporting retail shop environments. The ideal candidate thrives within a diverse company culture and helps foster an inclusive workplace.

In this role, the selected professional will independently manage employee relations challenges, conduct workplace investigations, oversee performance management, and handle leaves and separations. Travel of up to 25% is expected for site visits and meetings across North America. Successful candidates must be based in the United States.

This position requires direct employee relations experience and a strong grasp of regional employment law. It suits human resources professionals skilled in conflict resolution, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration within retail or manufacturing settings.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve performance and employee relations challenges, separations, investigations, terminations, and leaves independently across North America
  • Conduct a high volume of workplace investigations concerning misconduct, bullying, harassment, workplace violence, and fitness for work
  • Handle employee injuries and workplace compensation claims
  • Perform quarterly site visits and execute people compliance and engagement audits
  • Lead permanent and temporary layoffs alongside shop closures while ensuring compliance
  • Partner with managers to implement and monitor performance improvement plans
  • Collaborate with Compliance regarding employment standards, scheduling, breaks, and mandatory health and safety training
  • Review accommodation requests and implement appropriate measures with managers
  • Support the hiring, onboarding, and training processes for staff
  • Promote third-party vendor wellbeing resources and support employee return-to-work transitions
  • Collect accurate data, report on trends, and escalate serious issues

Requirements

  • 2+ years of direct employee relations experience covering complaints, attendance, leaves, investigations, terminations, and policy application
  • Proficient human resources experience in the assigned geographical area
  • Knowledge of local employment law, policies, and practices
  • Ability to conduct unbiased workplace investigations and recommend solutions
  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Suite, and GSuite
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for meetings and site visits in market and within North America
  • Must be located in the United States

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of people support experience in retail or manufacturing
  • Human resources coursework, degree, or certification
  • Experience in cross-cultural collaboration and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) or social justice training
  • Fluency in Spanish, French, or other additional languages
