Vercel is seeking a Head of Solutions Architecture, EMEA to lead its technical sales organization within the global Field Engineering group. Vercel operates as an agentic infrastructure company, providing tools that help developers and agents build and run software quickly and securely. In this leadership position, you will direct a team of pre- and post-sales Solutions Architects and their managers across Europe. You will establish the standard for technical excellence throughout the deal cycle, mentor staff on key enterprise accounts, and directly participate in high-stakes client meetings, architecture reviews, and migration planning. Working closely with sales leadership and reporting to the Global VP of Field Engineering, you will handle organizational planning, budgeting, staffing, and regional recruiting. Additionally, you will translate field patterns into repeatable plays and channel customer insights back to product and engineering divisions.
This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week onsite, based out of either the London or Berlin office. It suits an experienced technical leader with a strong background in modern web technologies and enterprise sales dynamics who wants to scale high-performing teams in a fast-growing environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the team of pre- and post-sales Solutions Architects across the EMEA region
- Deliver hands-on assistance for major accounts including presentations, architecture reviews, and migration strategies
- Coach Solutions Architects working on strategic accounts and other regional segments
- Gather and channel product feedback from the field to the engineering organization
- Create repeatable strategies based on observed trends across the team
- Track and report performance metrics to Sales and Field Engineering leadership on a quarterly basis
- Handle organizational planning, staffing, regional recruiting, and budgeting
Requirements
- Over 10 years of experience in technical pre-sales, Sales Engineering, or Solutions Architect roles
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership capacity
- Solid background in modern web technologies such as JavaScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, APIs, and cloud infrastructure
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and scale technical teams in high-growth settings
- Track record of working with enterprise and commercial clients across various industries
- Understanding of modern software development workflows including CI/CD, DevOps, and frontend frameworks
- Experience collaborating alongside Sales, Product, and Engineering departments
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience building with Next.js, Vercel, or comparable frontend frameworks
- Previous experience leading Solutions Architecture teams at high-growth cloud infrastructure or SaaS companies
- Expertise in developer tooling, performance optimization, or edge computing
- Comfort presenting at conferences, large-scale customer gatherings, or webinars
