Vercel is seeking a Director, Commercial Sales, EMEA to manage and expand its commercial sales operations across the EMEA region, excluding DACH. Operating as an infrastructure platform, Vercel helps developers and organizations build and launch software quickly, with backing from major technology enterprises. In this role, the leader will oversee the entire commercial sales lifecycle, transforming developer adoption and self-service traction into contracted enterprise revenue among scaling digital-native businesses.
This position targets individuals who excel in rapid, high-volume technology sales environments and know how to establish effective systems, cultivate high-performing teams, and consistently meet financial objectives. The successful candidate will hire and coach commercial account executives, collaborate closely with marketing and outbound teams, and refine messaging tailored to technical decision-makers like engineering leaders and CTOs. Work arrangements depend on geographic proximity to company offices: individuals residing within a commuting distance to the London office follow a hybrid schedule with specific anchor days, while those living outside this radius work entirely remotely.
The role involves direct participation in customer discussions, precise forecasting of team revenue, and cross-functional cooperation with customer success and legal departments to ensure smooth customer onboarding and long-term retention.
Responsibilities
- Manage the regional commercial sales revenue, forecasting, and pipeline creation across mid-market and growth accounts
- Recruit, onboard, and mentor a team of commercial account executives to maintain high activity and execution standards
- Promote a fast-paced sales approach characterized by rigorous outbound focus and efficient deal management
- Guide account executives regarding territory mapping, prospecting tactics, and engaging technical and business stakeholders
- Coordinate with marketing and sales development leadership to generate and convert inbound and outbound pipeline
- Create and refine commercial messaging designed for engineering leadership at growing enterprises
- Provide accurate reporting and revenue forecasts to regional sales management
- Establish repeatable playbooks and onboarding frameworks for rapid team ramp-up
- Collaborate across departments with customer success, product, and legal teams to support account retention
- Identify account expansion opportunities and assist staff in growing existing customer relationships
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, developer events, and customer meetings
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of sales leadership experience within a software-as-a-service or technical software sector
- Demonstrated ability to hire, train, and guide commercial account executives in competitive markets
- Strong familiarity with high-velocity commercial sales processes, pipeline management, and deal qualification
- Background in selling technology products to engineering, product, or technical leaders at growing businesses
- Data-informed approach to managing teams, building forecasts, and refining processes
- Proficiency in English
