This role suits an investigative professional experienced in navigating anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing matters within a cryptocurrency environment. Responsibilities involve driving proactive and reactive inquiries, conducting delegated reviews of Suspicious Activity Reports, and developing actionable intelligence regarding emerging risks and typologies. Candidates should expect an intense work environment focused on expanding economic freedom and enhancing institutional defences against financial crime.

Responsibilities

  • Manage comprehensive end-to-end investigations covering anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing issues from initial alert to disposition and regulatory filing.
  • Perform delegated Money Laundering Reporting Officer evaluations for suspicious activity and transaction reports prior to submission.
  • Drive proactive inquiries leveraging transaction data, blockchain analytics, trading behavior, and open-source intelligence.
  • Translate case findings and analytics into regulatory reports, control upgrades, and detection workflow refinements.
  • Coordinate with regional compliance personnel, operations groups, and law enforcement agencies concerning information sharing and investigative approaches.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years conducting and reviewing complex crypto financial crime inquiries across products like spot trading, derivatives, and retail or institutional transfers.
  • Proven background in preparing and filing suspicious activity reports alongside knowledge of multi-jurisdictional regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform data-driven investigations utilizing SQL and blockchain analytics instruments.
