Job Description

BeyondTrust is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design, secure, and support mission-critical cloud infrastructure that powers global services. Operating as an identity security leader, BeyondTrust protects paths to privilege and helps organizations manage the entire identity attack surface. This position is suited for a professional who demonstrates strong technical judgment and operational discipline in managing complex cloud environments.

In this role, the engineer will manage cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP, maintaining performance, availability, and operational health. Responsibilities include building networking solutions, creating Terraform modules, and configuring CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions. The practitioner will also handle incident resolution, backup and recovery validation, and cost optimization, alongside enforcing governance standards and identity controls. After-hours support is required as needed.

The role requires at least two years of relevant experience in managing large cloud environments, core AWS services, Terraform, AWS IAM, networking, Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Bash. Candidates must hold a relevant certification such as the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer. Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Design and deploy secure multi-account environments and AWS networking solutions
  • Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules and version-controlled configurations
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions and self-hosted runners
  • Troubleshoot incidents, execute patches, test backups, and optimize infrastructure performance and cost
  • Administer identity federation, authentication, and privileged access controls
  • Enforce compliance and governance standards covering resource tagging and capacity planning
  • Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools to build reusable automation
  • Produce and update architecture diagrams, documentation, and operational procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience designing, securing, and managing cloud environments in AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with core AWS services including compute, storage, networking, and monitoring
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience developing and maintaining Terraform modules or infrastructure as code
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with AWS IAM roles, policies, and permissions
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience utilizing Git workflows, version control, and scripting languages
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or similar platforms
  • Minimum of 2 years of scripting experience using Python, PowerShell, or Bash
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working within ITSM and change management processes
  • Must hold an AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer, or equivalent certification

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, and multi-account governance
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS networking including VPC, IPAM, WAF, and hybrid network architectures
  • 3+ years of experience in GitHub Actions, self-hosted runners, or CI/CD platform administration
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud observability, infrastructure security, or regulated environments
  • 3+ years of experience implementing cloud controls aligned with SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF 2.0, or FedRAMP Moderate requirements
  • Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code
