Operating a complex three-sided marketplace, the company connects millions of people with food and retail options. In this hybrid position requiring three days per week on-site, the successful candidate will lead a team of embedded Analytics Engineers within a specific business domain.
This role centers on managing a group of engineers, driving technical roadmaps, ensuring data product reliability, and shaping broader organizational standards. The analytics team handles tasks ranging from self-serve AI-enabled analytics to executive reporting and strategic planning. The ideal candidate blends strong technical foundations in SQL and modern data stacks with proven people management experience and the ability to influence senior business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support the performance, career development, and daily wellbeing of an embedded Analytics Engineering team
- Define and drive the analytics engineering roadmap for a specific business domain, prioritizing requests and aligning with stakeholders
- Promote a data products mindset by establishing SLAs, data contracts, and observability standards
- Maintain hands-on technical involvement through SQL and data model reviews, architectural guidance, and team unblocking
- Contribute to wider organizational decisions concerning tooling, processes, and engineering standards
- Collaborate with the recruitment team to hire diverse talent
Requirements
- Professional background in analytics engineering, business intelligence engineering, or data engineering with strong SQL foundations
- Demonstrated experience managing individual contributors, providing feedback, and navigating team management challenges
- Track record of owning and delivering a technical roadmap with measurable business results
- Familiarity with the modern analytics engineering stack, including cloud data warehousing, data modeling, and transformation tooling
Qualifications
- Previous professional background within a marketplace, e-commerce, grocery, or retail analytics environment
- Familiarity with metrics layer tooling, semantic layers, or Python for data automation and pipelines
- Exposure to AI-driven data methods and AI-assisted analytics workflows
- Experience contributing to documentation standards, onboarding, and peer review processes
