Reporting to the SVP of Payer, this high-profile position begins as an individual contributor role tasked with building the entire business development pipeline. The person in this position will connect with executive stakeholders at regional and national health plans, pharmacy benefit managers, consultants, and employers nationwide.

Responsibilities
- Grow the customer base and drive top-line financial expansion
- Generate leads and new business through networking, inbound inquiries, marketing follow-ups, and proactive outreach
- Lead and support Request for Proposals for health plans
- Create customized pitches and proposals tailored to the business needs of target customers using a consultative approach
- Establish and maintain relationships with decision-makers and executive stakeholders
- Contribute to strategic and operational initiatives to expand the business within the health plan sector
- Support the value-based reimbursement strategy by evolving the fee-for-outcomes model
- Partner closely with product, sales, clinical, and account management teams
- Understand and communicate the organization's technology, offerings, and mission
- Deliver a value-added approach to prospects to secure a long-term competitive advantage
- Analyze emerging market segments and business drivers to help refine market positioning
Requirements
- At least 10 years of direct and indirect business development experience within the healthcare industry
- Demonstrated history of surpassing sales quotas
- Experience closing complex deals with payers or pharmacy benefit managers involving clinical and executive stakeholders
- Knowledge of healthcare, value-based reimbursement, and commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid lines of business
- Self-starting, action-oriented approach with the ability to motivate others and execute in a high-growth environment
- People-centric, relationship-oriented collaboration skills
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in or closely with health plans
- Background at a top-tier management consulting firm or similar consulting experience
- Familiarity with core health plan operations such as provider contracting
