Robinhood is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to focus on Web3 initiatives, aiming to democratize finance by bringing public and private equity assets on-chain for continuous trading. This position centers on key projects related to the Robinhood Wallet, Robinhood Chain, and the Tokenization Engine. The person in this role will maintain a hands-on coding approach, define technical architecture, mentor colleagues, and encourage the adoption of advanced AI development tools.
This is a full-time, on-site opportunity located in Menlo Park, California, or New York, New York, with a requirement to work from the office at least three days per week. Responsibilities
- Own technical vision and execution for Robinhood Chain, the Tokenization Engine, and the Robinhood Wallet
- Design, build, and operate core services powering the Web3 platform
- Write production code and lead complex software implementations
- Lead the adoption of AI tooling to improve engineering output
- Drive standards for reliability, correctness, observability, and security
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, architecture discussions, and hands-on guidance
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience building and operating large-scale, distributed systems in production
- Expertise in backend development using Go, Python, or Java
- Deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures
- Minimum of 3 years leading large-scale technical initiatives across multiple teams or complex systems
- Strong command of system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals
