Twilio is looking for a Staff Security Engineer specializing in Threat Hunting to join its Threat Detection and Response division. Responsibilities
- Participate in daily operations including on-call duties, threat modeling, and incident response activities
- Architect, develop, and maintain high-performing detective tooling and automation
- Collaborate on the detection and response vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmaps
- Partner cross-functionally to address diverse threat actors and security challenges
- Conduct security and technology research alongside architecture reviews of the platform
- Build systems and services to simplify complex security hurdles
- Provide mentorship and support to foster long-term career growth within the team
Requirements
- At least 3 years of security engineering experience in a production cloud environment
- Demonstrated expertise in security issues and technologies
- Proven ability to design and build AI agents and agentic workflows
- Experience applying artificial intelligence for comprehensive and complex threat hunting to deliver high-fidelity detections
- Background in detecting and responding to next-generation artificial intelligence threats using frameworks like MITRE ATLAS
- Advanced understanding of service-oriented architectures and cloud-ready security tools
- Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms and extending their functionality
- Familiarity with SOAR tools and manual security process automation
- Working knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or Cloudformation
- Experience operating within major cloud platforms like AWS or GCP
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
