StackAdapt is seeking a Staff Quality Engineer to act as the primary senior technical lead within the Automation and Intelligence Pillar pod, which builds AI and agentic products such as Ivy. In this remote position, the practitioner will spearhead testing approaches for non-deterministic artificial intelligence systems, build automated evaluation harnesses, and enhance quality standards across an agile engineering organization. This individual contributor role suits an experienced engineer who wants to shape testing strategy for LLM-powered capabilities, agent behaviors, and complex backend workflows.

StackAdapt operates as a remote-first technology enterprise providing an AI-powered marketing platform that connects brand and performance campaigns for marketers globally. Candidates for this role may work remotely from anywhere within Canada or the United States. Compensation for this position ranges from USD 136,000 to USD 187,000 per year for United States residents, with a corresponding Canadian salary band available, plus supplementary benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end quality strategy for AI products within the Automation and Intelligence Pillar pod
  • Design and construct evaluation frameworks for non-deterministic technologies, measuring LLM output, agent actions, regressions, and safety guardrails
  • Create automated test suites and tools for functional, system, API, integration, UI, and regression needs integrated into the CI/CD pipeline
  • Define quality metrics and benchmarks including accuracy, latency, cost, and hallucination rates
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineering managers, designers, and data science professionals
  • Serve as a technical mentor and guide testing best practices across the quality engineering organization

Requirements

  • Minimum of seven years of hands-on professional experience in software quality and test automation
  • Practical background using API and UI test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Jest, or JUnit
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language among TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Java, with a preference for TypeScript
  • Direct history testing artificial intelligence or agentic systems utilizing tools from providers like OpenAI or Anthropic
  • Familiarity with continuous integration tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI
  • Experience defining test case design standards and maintaining a test case management practice using platforms like TestRail
