TRM Labs is seeking a remote Staff Infrastructure Engineer to design and operate the next generation of foundational systems that power its intelligence platform. The organization builds AI-powered software utilized by government and financial institutions to investigate financial crime, track illicit cryptocurrency activity, and secure critical operations. This position suits an autonomous builder comfortable operating in environments where speed, rigorous security, and high reliability must coexist.
In this role, the engineer will manage a dedicated slice of infrastructure, taking ownership of multi-region cloud environments, internal PaaS tooling, and agent-native workflows. The scope includes establishing automated self-service deployment paths, deploying zero-trust credential management through HashiCorp Vault, maintaining strict service level objectives, and embedding compliance standards directly into the platform code. Candidates will work within a small, distributed, AI-native team that participates in a regular on-call rotation.

Responsibilities
- Manage multi-region and multi-cloud Kubernetes deployments across US GCP, EU GCP, and AWS GovCloud
- Expand and maintain a self-serve internal platform-as-a-service utilized by dozens of engineers
- Develop secure sandboxes and operational skills for agent-native infrastructure
- Implement zero-trust, short-lived dynamic secrets using Vault to eliminate long-lived credentials
- Establish reliability engineering standards including service level objectives, error budgets, and validated disaster recovery
- Handle production database operations encompassing PostgreSQL management, migrations, and replication
- Embed SOC2 and FedRAMP compliance frameworks directly into platform architecture
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience taking infrastructure from zero to one by designing and shipping production platform capabilities
- Proficiency in writing software using languages such as Go or Python
- Extensive working knowledge of cloud computing services including IAM, VPC, networking, storage, and load balancing across GCP or AWS
- Production experience operating Kubernetes clusters via GKS or EKS alongside modern infrastructure-as-code tooling
- Ability to independently debug low-level issues such as networking faults, saturated nodes, and slow queries
- Fluency in the modern platform toolchain including GitOps workflows, containers, continuous integration and deployment, and observability
