Bosch seeks a Software Engineering Team Lead to manage a group of approximately fifteen professionals in Guadalajara, Jalisco. The company operates across four main sectors, including mobility solutions, consumer goods, industrial technology, and energy and building technology. This position focuses on vehicle communication gateway and connectivity modules, while also preparing the organization for future industry trends such as Zone ECUs, remote edge nodes, and software-defined vehicles.
This opportunity is well-suited for an experienced engineering professional with a background in automotive software development and project coordination. The person in this position will report directly to the Engineering Manager and will work under a hybrid schedule that requires three days in the office and two days remotely. Responsibilities include supervising local staff, refining execution practices, and improving cross-border cooperation with teams located in the United States.
Candidates will be expected to evaluate development frameworks, support talent retention, and participate in technical activities related to new business acquisition and regional initiatives. Bosch provides relocation financial support subject to internal mobility policy for eligible openings.
Responsibilities
- Manage, hire, evaluate, and support the retention of a software engineering team of about fifteen members
- Assess staff competencies, identify skill gaps, and implement training or ramp-up strategies
- Enhance software planning, milestone tracking, risk identification, and project transparency
- Evaluate development tool chains, CI/CD practices, and frameworks to propose operational improvements
- Collaborate with United States counterparts to align project status and establish clear communication interfaces
- Coordinate with system engineering, quality, V&V, and project management disciplines
- Contribute technical input for customer quotations and new business acquisition proposals
Requirements
- 5+ years of automotive industry experience in software development, testing, systems, or quality roles
- 5+ years of project coordination or management experience within the automotive sector
- 2+ years of technical leadership experience as a direct manager or technical team lead
- Working knowledge of automotive standards and processes including Automotive SPICE, the V-model, and MISRA
- Familiarity with configuration and change management tools such as Git, JIRA, or Synergy
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Experience cooperating with globally distributed teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or equivalent professional experience
- Background working with embedded control modules, body electronics, or gateways
- Practical experience utilizing agile methodologies such as Scrum
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines in embedded software environments
- Familiarity with ISO 26262 functional safety and ISO/SAE 21434 automotive cybersecurity
