ISC is a commercial MGA and insurance wholesaler backed by Onex Partners, combining data, technology, and insurance to drive growth. In this senior role, the professional will evaluate petroleum distribution insurance applications, determine coverage levels, establish pricing, and manage risks while ensuring regulatory compliance.
This position involves analyzing risk characteristics for various classes of fuel including propane, heating oil, gas, and diesel distributed to residences and gas stations across the United States. The candidate will execute underwriting and pricing strategies, utilize multiple databases and specialized software to verify data, and collaborate with producers and team members to finalize accounts efficiently.

Responsibilities
- Adhere to underwriting guidelines and execute strategies to meet profitability targets
- Evaluate, accept, reject, or mitigate risks within established authority limits
- Review risk characteristics for fuel distribution classes including propane, heating oil, gas, and diesel
- Ensure all underwriting activities comply with government and industry regulations
- Document underwriting files with risk analysis and pricing justification
- Recommend risk reduction methods to clients
- Build and maintain relationships with assigned producers
- Collaborate with the underwriting team to process accounts from quotes to policy issuance
- Gather data using multiple databases and specialized software for risk comparison
- Mentor team members and share market intelligence
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 5 years of commercial P&C underwriting or related insurance experience
- Experience underwriting commercial E&S policies
- Strong customer service experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
Qualifications
- Experience underwriting excess petroleum policies
- Experience working for an MGA
- Familiarity with Vertafore, AIM, and ImageRight software
- CPCU designation
- Property & Casualty Brokers License
