The developer infrastructure organization serves as the backbone for the engineering department by uniting the DevX, TestX, Backend Platform, and Mobile Platform teams to boost overall productivity and reliability.
The company seeks a Senior Staff Software Developer for Developer Infrastructure to act as the technical driver and unified leader across these four engineering teams. In this position, the selected individual will focus heavily on guiding the technical roadmap for DevX while weaving artificial intelligence and agentic systems into every layer of the software development lifecycle. This role suits an experienced engineer who wants to shape the future of financial technology and drive massive engineering velocity.
Based in the Toronto office, this position requires in-person attendance at least three days per week. The successful candidate will receive a base salary ranging from $234,000 to $275,000 CAD, along with bonus opportunities, equity ownership, and comprehensive benefits.
Responsibilities
- Manage the technical direction and roadmap for the Developer Infrastructure organization spanning DevX, TestX, Backend Platform, and Mobile Platform
- Lead and evolve the Bazel-based monorepo build infrastructure, remote build execution cluster, and multi-language build optimizations
- Scale continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines to handle thousands of daily builds with safety and speed
- Drive the vision for test infrastructure, integration test environments, and personal development simulation spaces
- Champion the integration of artificial intelligence and agentic systems across the full software development lifecycle
- Establish technical standards for core language runtimes, libraries, IDE tooling, and developer environment security
- Collaborate with engineering leadership and cross-functional partners to execute a long-term developer infrastructure strategy
Requirements
- Ten or more years of software engineering experience with a record at the Senior Staff, Principal, or Distinguished Engineer level
- Extensive expertise with Bazel and large-scale monorepo build systems, including remote build execution ownership
- Practical background building and operating continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines at massive scale
- Fluency in Go or Python
- Familiarity with distributed systems, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure
- Demonstrated experience with test infrastructure or developer environment platforms
- Strong technical leadership, communication, and influence skills
Qualifications
- Broad familiarity with TypeScript, Swift, or Android development environments
- Hands-on experience with agentic artificial intelligence systems, automated code review, or AI-driven developer velocity programs
