This position focuses on combining blockchain technology with traditional market infrastructure, designing systems that issue, custody, and settle tokenized equities on-chain while synchronizing with legacy ledgers and brokerages.
This role suits experienced engineers with a background in distributed systems and backend development who want to work on correctness-critical financial platforms. Responsibilities include owning end-to-end technical projects, building smart contract integrations and chain indexers, and establishing system architecture for high-stakes environments.
Robinhood operates on-site in Menlo Park, Toronto, and New York City, requiring in-person attendance at least three days per week. Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate backend services that mint, custody, and settle tokenized equities across blockchains
- Own complex technical projects end to end from design to production rollout
- Connect traditional market infrastructure with on-chain systems including smart contract integrations and trade flows
- Partner with product, compliance, legal, and platform teams to address regulatory requirements
- Conduct design and code reviews while mentoring engineers
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering large-scale distributed systems in production
- Expertise in backend development using Go, Python, or Java
- Familiarity with cloud-native architecture such as Kafka, Postgres, and Kubernetes
- Demonstrated ownership of ambiguous, cross-functional projects
Qualifications
