Job Description

Robinhood is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Tokenization to join its Tokenization team in Toronto, ON. The position requires working on site at least three days per week. This role suits experienced software engineers who want to design and construct core systems responsible for issuing, custodying, and settling tokenized equities on-chain while keeping them synchronized with traditional brokerage and ledger setups. Candidates will steer complex projects from conception through rollout in a setting where correctness is vital because the applications manage real customer assets continuously across multiple jurisdictions and chains.

  • Coordinate with product, compliance, legal, and platform units to translate regulatory rules into functional system designs
  • Elevate technical standards through design evaluations, code reviews, and hands-on guidance for other engineers

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience with a history of delivering large-scale distributed systems in production environments
  • Proficiency in backend development using Go, Python, or Java alongside cloud-native architecture familiarity such as Kafka, Postgres, or Kubernetes
  • Demonstrated ability to handle ambiguous, cross-functional projects and make necessary technical tradeoffs
  • Availability to work from the Toronto, ON office at least three days per week

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of blockchain fundamentals like EVM, smart contracts, wallets, and on-chain settlement, or a strong willingness to learn them quickly
  • Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction beyond personal project scope
