The organization is seeking a Senior Manager, Investigations to establish and run a newly created, standalone Central Intake and Investigations Hub. This remote position operates globally across all programs and countries. The role suits an experienced investigator who can build an independent function from the ground up, manage complex workplace investigations, set organizational standards, and mentor future team members including a Program Manager for Investigations and a Program Manager for Intake and Reporting.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the People team, Internal Audit, Safeguarding, HR Managers, and Country Directors to ensure allegations and concerns are triaged and investigated objectively. Travel is occasional and unpredictable, involving team co-locations or travel to operations countries when required for an investigation. Responsibilities

  • Establish the Central Intake and Investigations Hub and build effective cross-organizational relationships with the People team, Internal Audit, Safeguarding, HR Managers, and Country Directors.
  • Lead the most complex internal investigations, establish facts, produce findings reports, and issue recommendations.
  • Define organizational investigation standards, provide oversight, quality assure matters led by Internal Audit or Safeguarding, and determine training needs.
  • Maintain the central system of record for staff matters, run regular reporting and calibration with leadership, and sign off on internal and external reports.
  • Shape the design and controls of the case management system while utilizing automation and AI to reduce manual triage, documentation, and reporting work.
  • Recruit, manage, set priorities for, and develop future team members including a Program Manager for Investigations and a Program Manager for Intake and Reporting.

Requirements

  • Possess 5 to 7 years of professional experience leading workplace misconduct investigations, including matters involving senior staff and sexual misconduct allegations, handled end-to-end from terms of reference to findings report.
  • Demonstrate experience setting investigation standards and quality assuring the work of others.
  • Bring a working understanding of employee relations and the boundary between investigations and employment decisions.
  • Have multi-country experience across diverse legal contexts where local laws impact investigations and staff treatment.
  • Apply trauma-informed and survivor-centred practices during interview planning, disclosure handling, and support.
  • Demonstrate experience implementing investigative systems, building case data reporting, or integrating technology and AI into investigative workflows while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Maintain professional fluency in English plus professional working proficiency in French, Swahili, or Portuguese.
