NetBox Labs is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to help shape its expanding engineering division. The commercial steward of open-source NetBox and Orb provides open, composable products designed to assist organizations with network automation and management. Offerings include NetBox Enterprise and NetBox Cloud.
This position centers on treating operations through a software lens by writing code to automate, instrument, and manage systems. The successful candidate will build robust cloud architecture using infrastructure-as-code and manage deployment performance. Responsibilities include shaping internal platforms, streamlining deployment pipelines, and strengthening monitoring systems. This contributor will work alongside developers to bridge code delivery and production environments.

Responsibilities
- Design and maintain infrastructure supporting SaaS and on-premises engineering initiatives
- Operate and optimize cloud environments with a focus on performance, security, and cost efficiency
- Contribute to internal platform tooling, continuous integration automation, and developer self-service
- Manage monitoring, alerting, and service-level objectives to enhance observability and incident response
- Partner with product teams to align internal platforms with engineering needs
- Enforce security and compliance protocols, including SOC 2 controls
- Produce documentation, onboarding resources, and internal support frameworks
- Take part in the on-call rotation schedule
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional background in SRE, platform engineering, or DevOps
- Minimum 2 years of experience within a B2B software startup
- Demonstrated expertise with AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, and RDS
- Hands-on practice with Kubernetes or EKS and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Helm
- Familiarity with automation tooling and continuous integration pipelines
- Working knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Mimir, or Loki
- Coding proficiency in Python, Go, or shell scripting
- Background in either Change Data Capture and event streaming or scaling multi-tenant observability platforms
Qualifications
- Experience working inside security-focused or SOC 2 compliant environments
- Familiarity with messaging technologies like AMQP and MQTT
- Exposure to the NetBox ecosystem or network automation utilities
- Open-source contribution background
- Familiarity with AI assistance tools such as Cursor, ChatGPT, or Copilot
