Within the People Technology division, this position involves handling the configuration, ongoing maintenance, and enhancement of Workday Absence, Time Tracking, and domestic as well as international benefit programs. The professional in this role will collaborate directly with Benefits, People Operations, Payroll, Finance, and Engineering departments to translate complex business requirements into dependable systems and straightforward internal experiences. Responsibilities include independently managing time and absence frameworks, supporting annual open enrollment operations, troubleshooting data integrations, and assisting with global entity expansions. Furthermore, the role involves partnering with engineering staff to introduce automation and AI-assisted workflows aimed at minimizing manual operational tasks. Candidates should possess strong technical capabilities in Workday administration, a background in managing global benefit and time tracking configurations, and the ability to operate effectively within ambiguous environments while balancing immediate operational needs with long-term strategic projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage Workday configuration and system enhancements across Absence, Time Tracking, and Benefits modules
- Design and maintain absence plans, leave processes, accruals, time entry rules, and approval workflows
- Partner with the Payroll systems owner to ensure accurate data flow into payroll systems
- Oversee US and international benefit configurations, including enrollment events, life events, and rates
- Lead open enrollment systems readiness including configuration, testing, and launch support
- Collaborate with technical teams and benefit vendors to troubleshoot and maintain integrations
- Manage Absence, Time Tracking, and Benefits implementations for new country and entity launches
- Partner with software engineers to build workflow automation and AI-assisted solutions
- Maintain system security, data quality, reporting, and change controls
- Produce documentation and training materials for employees, managers, and the People team
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience configuring and supporting Workday Absence and Time Tracking
- Demonstrated history of independently managing Workday Benefits for domestic and international programs
- Understanding of data flows from time, absence, and benefits into payroll and downstream systems
- Proficiency in translating complex business rules into maintainable system designs
- Technical Workday skills encompassing business processes, calculated fields, security, reporting, and data loads
Qualifications
- Experience with global Absence, Time Tracking, or Benefits implementations and new country entity launches
- Previous collaboration with software engineers on internal products, integrations, or workflow automation
- Practical utilization of AI to improve systems work, testing, documentation, or employee support
- Relevant Workday certifications or Workday Pro credentials
