Responsibilities center on managing regulatory reporting, assisting with the monthly financial close, and preparing vital computations such as Net Capital and customer reserves. Responsibilities
- Prepare or assist in producing broker-dealer financial regulatory reports including FOCUS reports and Reserve Computations
- Support the monthly accounting close for the registered broker-dealer by creating journal entries, completing reconciliations, and generating financial reports
- Gather and assemble information needed to satisfy daily regulatory reporting mandates
- Help produce the daily Net Capital schedule and the daily 15c3-3 reserve computation
- Complete month-end accounting entries and balance reconciliations
Requirements
- Five or more years of finance department experience working at a bank or broker-dealer
- Thorough understanding of key processes and controls related to producing and submitting required regulatory reports
- Practical background in financial institution accounting including reconciliations, entries, and financial analysis
- Intermediate proficiency in SQL and Excel
- Ability to utilize AI tools to enhance operational efficiency
- Capacity to work on-site in Chicago, IL at least three days per week
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited institution
- Possession of Series 27 or Series 99 license, or the ability to acquire one within one year of hire
