The organization is currently hiring a remote, full-time Field Service Technician to join its field services team.
This position centers on setting up, starting up, and maintaining OPTEL systems directly at customer locations. Professionals in this role will also deliver user training and provide technical assistance to foster client loyalty and satisfaction. Ideal candidates are adaptable problem-solvers who possess a strong aptitude for electronics and mechanics, and who are comfortable traveling extensively for work.
Daily duties involve executing both mechanical and electrical installations, troubleshooting equipment issues alongside internal engineering teams, and writing comprehensive service documentation. Technicians will also perform scheduled maintenance, conduct engineering site visits, and spot potential commercial prospects. Candidates must submit their resumes in English to be considered.
Responsibilities
- Install and commission company systems at customer facilities following established protocols
- Perform mechanical and electrical equipment setup while maintaining quality standards
- Partner with factory design and technical support groups to troubleshoot and fix problems
- Educate end-users on how to properly operate the installed systems
- Draft thorough and precise reports for every installation and service visit
- Assist customers throughout the system qualification phase
- Execute repairs and maintenance tasks ordered by customer service
- Spot potential commercial sales opportunities for extra contracts or complementary systems
Requirements
- Strong background in computer science and electronics
- Practical experience troubleshooting and fixing electronic, electromechanical, or mechanical machinery
- Ability to travel roughly three weeks out of every month
- Possession of a valid passport and driver's license
- Proficiency in both English and French
- Submission of the resume in English
Qualifications
- College degree in electromechanics, computer science, electronics, or a related discipline, or equivalent work history
- Prior background working within the cosmetics, food, or pharmaceutical sectors
