This contract position involves working with a large database of cancer patients to perform artificial intelligence and machine learning modeling, alongside data extraction, transformation, and loading.
The role suits an independent learner with strong analytical skills who wants to contribute to cancer care solutions. Responsibilities include examining real-world data from electronic health records and insurance claims, conducting survival modeling, and preparing figures and text for academic publications. Responsibilities
- Analyze real-world datasets to uncover trends regarding clinical treatments and management expenses
- Identify key clinical milestones such as cancer progression and treatments utilizing CPT, NDC, and ICD codes alongside structured database free text
- Perform statistical evaluations and survival modeling concerning clinical events
- Visualize analytical outcomes and present them as a coherent narrative
- Assist data scientists with the creation of digital pathology artificial intelligence models
- Partner with medical experts, statisticians, and bioinformaticians for manuscript preparation
Requirements
- Proficiency with SQL and R or equivalent programming languages
- Strong competence in data cleanup, manipulation, and visualization using ggplot and tidyverse in R or similar tools
- Demonstrated expertise in statistical analysis, specifically survival modeling and hypothesis testing including multivariate regression with interaction effects
- Experience operating inside cloud computing environments, with AWS preferred
- Track record of effectively summarizing and communicating data findings with high attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs
Qualifications
- PhD in Data Science, Statistics, or a related field, or a Master degree with a minimum of four years of relevant post-graduate work
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or AWS
- Understanding of cancer biology, basic bioinformatics, and genomics
- Previous research background in digital pathology, bioinformatics, urological oncology, or related areas
- Experience researching and developing artificial intelligence models including vision or time series foundation models and large language models
- Prior history of publishing in peer-reviewed technical or clinical journals and conferences
