Job Description

Nimble Gravity is seeking a Data and Analytics Engineer to combine insurance domain knowledge with full-stack data and analytics engineering. In this position, you will build robust data foundations for Snowflake’s AI platform by constructing clean data models, governed pipelines, and semantic models that allow natural language interfaces to interpret business information. Your work directly bridges the gap between raw data and AI agents, ensuring data is structured, secure, and ready for automated reasoning.

This role suits professionals who want to own the entire data stack from source ingestion to the semantic layer, rather than stopping at standard data modeling. You will interact directly with clients, engineers, and AI specialists to help financial institutions and other clients implement artificial intelligence successfully. Responsibilities range from architecting high-performance data models to authoring semantic view configurations and running technical workshops.

Nimble Gravity operates as an equal opportunity employer. The posting notes that visa sponsorship (H1B) is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Architect scalable and flexible data models that guide business domains toward single sources of truth
  • Develop and maintain data infrastructure using SQL, Python, dbt, and Snowflake for reporting and automation
  • Perform data quality assurance and implement automated testing procedures for Snowflake data models
  • Contribute to data governance initiatives, covering data lineage, permissions, and definitions
  • Configure data security measures to restrict model access strictly to authorized data
  • Build semantic data models to expose line-of-business data to natural language queries via Snowflake Cortex Analyst
  • Define and validate dimensions, metrics, and relationships required for AI agents to reason over business data
  • Identify and resolve structural or naming gaps that could cause AI agents to produce errors
  • Produce playbooks, reusable data model templates, and semantic model libraries
  • Facilitate technical workshops to help upskill other team members
  • Author semantic view configurations and Markdown/YAML skill files for plain-English invocation by non-technical analysts
  • Track post-launch adoption, address stall points, and re-engage until data products run reliably

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of professional background in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related technical field, including customer-facing or cross-functional experience
  • Daily utilization of an AI coding assistant as a primary development environment
  • Advanced SQL proficiency, including window functions, complex joins, and common table expressions without documentation reference
  • Demonstrated practical experience building dbt projects with testing, documentation, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience shipping a production data pipeline or data model utilized by non-technical business users
  • Comfort working within Git for branching, pull requests, and code reviews
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Experience with Python for data pipelines and automation workflows
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tooling and semantic modeling concepts
  • Experience with Snowflake Cortex capabilities such as Cortex Analyst, Cortex Agents, Cortex Search, semantic views, and Dynamic Tables

Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing Apache Airflow or alternative orchestration frameworks
  • Familiarity with enterprise business software systems such as ERP, CRM, or HRIS
