Zoox is seeking a Contract Student Worker - Data Analyst to join its team on a part-time basis. Backed by Amazon, the enterprise currently operates in cities like Las Vegas and San Francisco while testing across several U.S. markets to modernize urban mobility.
This part-time student worker position places individuals directly onto teams to handle substantive projects alongside researchers and engineers developing self-driving technology. The role focuses on evaluating highway data coverage, mining highway scenarios, constructing datasets, and creating monitoring dashboards. This opportunity suits students who possess strong academic backgrounds and want hands-on professional experience that complements their studies.
Selected candidates will be employed through an external vendor contracted with Zoox rather than participating in a traditional cohort internship. The position requires working on-site at the company facility located in Foster City. Individuals will receive a compensation rate of thirty dollars per hour, while benefits eligibility is managed directly through the staffing vendor.
Responsibilities
- Develop Databricks notebooks to mine scenarios, generate datasets, and build monitoring dashboards
- Analyze large vehicle logs and simulation data to perform exposure analysis, identify performance bottlenecks, and spot data gaps
- Draft detailed data analytics reports
- Assess the coverage and exposure rate of interesting events within highway data
Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency in SQL, PySpark, and Python within production environments utilizing standard repository practices
- Prior experience working with sensor data or time-series data
- Current enrollment in an M.S. or B.S. program focusing on Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline
- Availability to fulfill a minimum commitment of twenty hours per week
- Capacity to commit to an assignment lasting at least six months
- Ability to work on-site at the Foster City office location
- Compliance with company confidentiality policies regarding proprietary information
