Strata Information Group (SIG) seeks a full-time, remote Colleague Consultant - Financial Aid to assist colleges and universities with technology consulting, ERP and SIS modernization, digital transformation, and strategic advisory services. This position suits an experienced financial aid professional who can provide strategic direction and expert guidance to a diverse client base. In this role, the consultant will support both short-term and long-term client needs concerning the Colleague financial aid module, collaborate with key stakeholders, implement industry best practices, and maintain regulatory compliance.

The consultant will manage full implementations of the Financial Aid module using provided documentation, deliver client training, and offer post-go-live optimization support. Additional duties involve assessing existing workflows, ensuring adherence to US Department of Education regulations across the full academic year cycle, and providing managed services when necessary. The position requires travel of up to 25% to deliver onsite client assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Guide clients through complete implementations of the Colleague Financial Aid module utilizing industry standards.
  • Train designated client groups on Colleague best practices.

  • Conduct short-term consulting to evaluate current workflows and suggest optimizations.
  • Ensure client adherence to federal and state regulations mandated by the US Department of Education.
  • Provide guidance across the entire academic year financial aid cycle.
  • Offer managed services for on-the-ground support during defined periods.

Requirements

  • Have three to five years of higher education sector experience as a subject matter expert in financial aid.
  • Possess three to five years of hands-on experience using the Ellucian Colleague Financial Aid module with advanced proficiency.
  • Demonstrate consulting experience centered on process improvement, standard work creation, and operational efficiency.
  • Show expertise in utilizing Colleague to automate and improve financial aid office operations.
  • Be able to quickly troubleshoot functional and technical issues within Colleague to reduce risk and operational downtime.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills across various business units.
  • Work independently with urgency to deliver real-time and timely support to clients.
  • Understand student financial aid data storage within Colleague to run internal reports and assist technical consultants with report writing.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time for onsite client engagements.
